Ten minutes from the highway, an hour from the Magaliesberg, and a short drive from Soweto, Kyalami and the city's main convention centres.
African Footprints Lodge sits on a full hectare of garden, a rare piece of quiet inside Johannesburg's fastest-growing business corridor. The main house holds our guest lounge and bar, a dining room, and a lapa with the braai and the pool a few steps beyond. Rooms and garden cottages sit under mature trees around the edge.
Our team lives and works here, and can help you plan and book any of these.
Around 35km away, Soweto is home to the Mandela House on 8115 Ngakane Street, the nearby home of Desmond Tutu, and the Hector Pieterson Museum, which honours the thirteen-year-old boy killed in the 1976 Student Uprising. Spend the day exploring, then come back for a braai at the lodge.
Wake with the sun and sail 2,000ft over the Magaliesberg mountain range. The area is known for some of the best hot-air ballooning weather in the world, and the flight ends with a glass of bubbly with your captain. Ask reception for details.
The lodge is a short drive from the Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit, and easy to reach from Ellis Park and Soccer City for rugby and football fixtures.
If you're in Midrand for work or study, the lodge sits within a short drive of the area's main centres.
